FAQ

Q: Has anything been heard from CP3?

A: Yes. CP3 has an experimental license and therefore doesn't beacon. We can, however, command the satellite to operate over Cal Poly.

Q: What is the mission of CP3 and CP4?

A: See these pages CP3 mission page and CP4 mission page.

Q: Why is CP4 sometime refered to as CP2 or CP2.1?

A: Its complicated, but the main reason is that CP2 was destroyed in the Dnepr 1 launch failure. Instead of launching a new satellite we launched the backup flight unit of CP2. We had to declare the name as CP4 to Kosmotras. So officially the satellite is called CP4 but in reallity the satellite design is CP2.
